He began piano studies with Marie Babiak of Seaford. John Williams (University of South Carolina). He was president of the Northport Running Club (2007 – 2009) and continues to be one of its proud members. They specialize in the kind of soulful\, jazz-inflected rhythm and blues that was popularized by greats like Ray Charles in the 50’s and 60’s\, but also play jazz from the 30’s through the 50’s – with a whole lot of swing and verve. After all\, one of their goals is to evoke the cool sophistication of jazz with the deep rootsy-ness of the blues. Another is to get everyone moving with them\, and maybe even traveling to another time with them – to an era when real musicians\, with real instruments\, reached and moved people through music that was live\, real\, and raw.
