About the President and CEO
Dr. Gina J. Wouters joined Planting Fields Foundation in January 2019. As President and CEO, she works in close collaboration with New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, to steward Planting Fields, a 409-acre Olmsted Brothers-designed historic estate. Since joining Planting Fields Foundation, Gina has directed her focus on the physical and intellectual revitalization of the Olmsted Brothers heritage at Planting Fields, the preservation and expansion of the historic archives collection, engaging artists through the commission-based program Catalyst, improving the visitor experience, and overall financial and resource growth.

Prior to joining Planting Fields Foundation, Gina worked at various museums in Florida and Tennessee including Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, and the Wolfsonian-FIU. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Barry University, Master of Arts from the Universiteit van Amsterdam, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Leicester. She has curated exhibitions as well as site-specific commissions from artists such as Mark Dion, David Brooks, Diana Al-Hadid, and others, and has published extensively on related subjects. Gina has lectured nationally and internationally including at ICOM, AAM, NPS, and CAA conferences and is an alumna of the 2015 Attingham Summer School.
