A Beautiful Garden Transformation is Underway!
As we continue to grow and enhance the visitor experience at Planting Fields, please note that the south side of the Rose Arbor facing the Main Greenhouse and intersecting the Oudolf Garden will be under construction now through October as part of an exciting new garden project.
During this time, visitors may notice chain-link fencing and an active construction area along that side of the arbor. For photographers and guests planning special occasion photos, we kindly recommend using the north-facing side of the Rose Arbor closest to the Main House, which continues to offer a beautiful backdrop for photography.

Planting Fields Foundation does not issue permits for outdoor photography.

All outdoor wedding and portrait photography on the grounds of Planting Fields Arboretum requires a New York State Parks Photography Permit, which is issued exclusively by New York State Parks.

Main House Interior Photography

The Main House at Planting Fields offers a truly unforgettable setting for engagements, proposals, family portraits, and more. With its historic interiors and timeless atmosphere, every moment feels elevated and cinematic.

Entrance Hall | Great Hall | Dining Room | Den | Gallery | Main Staircase
 
Photography Fees
$400 | Up to 3 people total (including photographers and videographers)
Additional time: $150 per 15 minutes
 
$700 | Up to 9 people total (including photographers and videographers)
Additional time: $150 per 15 minutes

Commercial Photography & Filming
Planting Fields has been used as a location for numerous film, television, and editorial projects. The historic architecture of the Main House and beautiful gardens offer a unique and unforgettable setting for film and photography shoots. 

Outdoor shoots must receive a permit from the Regional Permits Office of New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation.  Specific shoot locations must be pre-approved with written consent.
