The Planting Fields Foundation Service Corps will engage three cohorts of young adults, delivering over 5,000 hours of supervised service in mission critical projects while building participants’ skills and sense of belonging. Rooted in Pease Corps and AmeriCorps traditions, the program pairs stewardship with learning, creating visible public benefits at Planting Fields and future civic leaders.

2026 Spring Service Corps Cohort
April 27 – June 18 | Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm; may include occasional support on event days | Housing may be provided | Stipend: $2,400 for the 8-week term

Launching this spring! This cohort is for young adults and pairs hands-on stewardship with skill-building, mentorship, and reflection. Working in a small supervised crew, participants will complete mission-critical projects across Planting Fields, including:
– Trail and access improvements
– Invasive species management
– Habitat restoration
– Historic garden care

All while also supporting the park’s environmental education and visitor experience work. Corps members will help bring sustainability and stewardship initiatives to life for the public by:
– Assisting with tours, school and family programs, festivals, and volunteer days
– Developing simple, visitor-friendly interpretation that connects the landscape to the site’s history and ecology
– Creating short educational content for our website and social media.

Participants will also contribute to behind-the-scenes work that strengthens public access to the park’s stories, including supporting archives/collections projects that inform programs and interpretation. The cohort is designed to build confidence, teamwork, leadership, and practical job skills while producing visible, lasting public benefits on the ground.
