June 16, 2021 | 7:00 pm8:30 pm

Join Colin Fanning, scholar of design history and the decorative arts, and Planting Fields Director of Museum Affairs and Chief Curator Meredith A. Brown as they discuss the role played by American interior decorator, hostess, and actress Elsie de Wolfe in the history of modern decoration. About Colin Fanning

Colin Fanning is a scholar and curator of decorative arts, design history, and material culture. My research interests encompass a broad range of design, craft, and architecture from the mid-nineteenth century to the present in Europe and North America, including some narrower fields of inquiry like the history of design pedagogy, the material culture of childhood, the intersections of craft and counterculture, and the visual and material cultures of space science. I’m currently a PhD Candidate at Bard Graduate Center (where I also received my MA) and hold a BFA in interior design from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts.
