What shadows remain of previous buildings at Planting Fields? A palimpsest refers to the fabric of structures that make up the history of the built environment. From the Byrne House that resided on the Planting Fields property before the Coe family, to midcentury SUNY era geodesic domes, there are several buildings that no longer exist at Planting Fields. Led by Planting Fields Foundation’s Michael D. Coe Archivist, Marie Penny, this exciting new tour will uncover the history of those buildings throughout the Planting Fields site.
This tour will take place outside and requires a moderate amount of walking. At the end of the tour guests will have the opportunity to view the Foundation’s archive.
For questions, please contact Marie Penny at mpenny@plantingfields.org.
