This May, join Vincent Simeone, NYSP Arboretum Director and expert horticulturist, on an exclusive tour of the Rhododendron Collection at Planting Fields. An experienced lecturer, instructor, horticultural consultant, nationwide speaker, and guest on several garden shows including Martha Stewart Living and HGTV, Vincent will bring this magnificent and colorful collection to life! Tour-goers will experience first-hand the Coe family’s passion for horticulture as they explore this prized, historic, and spectacular collection of hundreds of plants, including some that were hybridized and named for the Coes!

Rhododendrons have a rich history at Planting Fields dating back to the early 20th century, when Mr. Coe imported and cultivated hundreds of varieties. An entire collection of fine rhododendron specimens still exists today on the east side of Coe Hall, and it is aptly named the North Rhododendron Park. In addition to historic varieties, Planting Fields staff have been working diligently to incorporate new species of rhododendron, as well as one-of-a-kind hybrids. This walk and talk will explore some of the finer parts of the collection throughout the grounds and as well as some of the azaleas that dominate the landscape!

Reservations are based on availability and space is limited. All ticket sales are final.
