Unlock your child’s creativity with Planting Fields, where history, nature, and imagination come together! This unique program offers young storytellers the chance to create their very own storybook, from writing and illustrating to binding their finished work. 

Surrounded by the breathtaking gardens and stunning architecture of the site, your child will be immersed in a world of inspiration as they: 

• Craft Their Own Story: Learn how to develop characters, build plots, and bring ideas to life in a fun, interactive writing workshop. 

• Illustrate Their Imagination: Discover how art can enhance storytelling as kids create their own illustrations to accompany their tales. 

• Bind Their Masterpiece: Take home a finished, personalized storybook they’ve crafted themselves, ready to share with family and friends! 

• This hands-on, creative journey allows children to not only strengthen their writing and artistic skills but also experience the joy of storytelling in an unforgettable setting. Give your child the chance to bring their imagination to life while exploring one of Long Island’s most beautiful historical landmarks. 

About Wednesday Workshops
This monthly series of children’s workshops engages students ages 5 – 12 to explore the great outdoors of Planting Fields, and immerses them in the ecology, history, art, and more of this site. This series will take place once a month on a Wednesday evening from 4 – 6pm, unless otherwise noted.

This is a drop-off program. Guardians are encouraged to stay on-site during the duration of the program and explore the beautiful grounds! If your child requires accommodations, if you have any questions or are interested in group rates, please contact efitzpatrick@plantingfields.org

This is a non-refundable program. 48 Hour Cancellation Policy: Should you need to cancel; you will be credited the amount towards a future education workshop.
