Camellia Festival
February 18, 2023 | 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Join us for Planting Fields’ annual Camellia Festival on Saturday, February 18 from 11:00AM – 4:00PM, taking place in the stunning Camellia House, which was largely the vision of the Olmsted Brothers in 1918 to serve as a show palace for the Coe family’s prized Camellia collection. Enjoy live musical performances from the Como Brothers as you take in the blooming grandeur of our historic collection of Camellia sinensis and learn from experts about its unique botanical history, ecological significance, and enduring charm.
The festival will extend inside Coe Hall, where guests can enjoy live musical performances from violinist Bela Horvath and cellist Jacqueline Choi of Chamber Players International, floral demonstrations from Decker’s Nursery, a tea tasting with SerendipiTea, live watercolor painting of camellias with local artist, ‘jojo_watercolors’, a chance to create your own watercolor painting and self-guided tours of Coe Hall where the exhibition, Decisive Moments at Planting Fields: The Photography of Mattie Edwards Hewitt and Frances Benjamin Johnston is currently on view.
Access to the Camellia Festival is free but registration is required.
Access to Coe Hall is $15 for adults and $10 for children and seniors.
