Planting Fields was never just a house. And never just a garden.

On this in-depth, two-hour, small-group experience, explore how architecture and landscape were conceived as one unified masterpiece — limited to only 15 guests per tour, making it an intimate and truly special way to experience Planting Fields.

Begin inside the Main House to uncover the artistry, craftsmanship, and social history behind its grand interiors. Then step outside to stroll the Olmsted-designed grounds, where sightlines, plantings, and terrain were carefully orchestrated to extend the home into the natural world.

This is our site as a total work of design — experienced the way its creators intended, and with a closeness that makes each detail feel personal.

Please note:
– This tour runs rain or shine; severe weather may adjust or shorten the outdoor route. Exchanges only due to inclement weather and only for tours of the same program.
– Please wear comfortable walking shoes; portions of the tour are outdoors and on uneven paths.
– Accessibility: accessible routes available; please email in advance for accommodation requests. Limited seating breaks available.
– Capacity: 15 guests per tour
