Discover the stories, traditions, and seasonal rhythms woven into our Community Garden during this one-of-a-kind family experience. Join Shane Weeks and Tecumseh Ceaser of the Metoac Indigenous Collective for a morning of exploration and hands-on learning as they share Indigenous gardening practices, the cultural significance of native plants, sustainable harvesting techniques, and the importance of preserving seeds for future generations.
After exploring the Community Garden, participants will have the opportunity to help nourish it by adding nutrient-rich local seaweed. They’ll also create native wildflower seed balls to take home, a simple yet meaningful way to support local pollinators and continue the cycle of growth beyond Planting Fields.
It’s a chance to slow down, learn from the land, and experience Planting Fields in a whole new way!
For questions, please contact Education Manager, Erin Fitzpatrick at efitzpatrick@plantingfields.org
